Hey!
I have two things I want to share with you today. I’ll make it quick.
Number 1: Fast marathon shoes
There’s been a couple of fast marathons lately. World record fast. In Berlin and in Chicago. Pundits and armchair experts alike are all up and about when it comes to super shoes. Again. I’m sure you’ve heard someone mention running shoes lately.
If you want some cold, hard facts about the shoe debate, this one’s for you. I’ve gone through all the recent races – including the World Championships marathon – and examined what the top runners have been wearing. As per my spreadsheet obsession, I’ve catalogued all the data in a spreadsheet.
After crunching the numbers, I went on and updated the article about the Fastest Marathon Shoes of 2023. It now reflects data from all five marathon majors that have been run this year, as well as the marathon from the world champs.
Check it out if you want to see which shoes are claiming top honours in the big marathons. And share it with your shoe-obsessed running friends.
Number 2: The future of this newsletter
Despite the lack of newsletters lately, Run161 is alive and kicking. The website has never been more popular than the last couple of months. As a result, I’ve been dedicating my time to improving the site and the content, instead of this newsletter.
Fact is, while the website garners some traction, a bit of feedback, and even generates a little revenue, that’s not the case with the newsletter. And, believe it or not, sending emails out into the void with little to no feedback eventually becomes kinda boring.
All that in mind, I need your help to decide what the Run161 Newsletter should be. More than 1200 runners subscribe. It tells me that there’s something runners out there want, that I’ve not been able to deliver on.
So I need your help to uncover what that might be. I’ve set up a short survey to gather some feedback from you. If you want to receive a newsletter about running, I hope you’ll dedicate a few minutes to helping me figure out what it should look like.
Click this link to participate in the survey.
If you want, you can share your feedback anonymously. Or you can leave your email in there, so that I can contact you for more details about your opinion.
Thanks in advance to all of you who are willing to share your feedback. I don’t know when you’ll hear from me next. But when you do, I’ll have concrete information about what the future of this newsletter looks like.
Regards,
Lars-Christian
